Lillie didn't initially like to read she struggled with anything other than the very basic books. All of this changed in second grade, something clicked for her when she read Percy Jackson and the Lightning Thief. From that time onward her love of reading only grew, she began to devour book after book. She almost always finishes the books she starts and she never fake reads in school. Lillie is always reading. She always has a book with her and any free time that she has is spent reading. She thinks that people read to experience new things, learn more about the world, and just for the simple joy of reading. To be a good reader, one has to be willing to invest a part of themselves into the story otherwise reading means nothing. Reading is now easy for Lillie because the words flow together to create a spectacular image inside her head. The hardest part of reading is, at times, finding time to properly focus on the story and give it the attention it deserves. When choosing a book Lillie mostly looks for interesting characters and plotlines. She also looks for something new and interesting after reading so many books. A good book will make Lillie care about the characters because if she doesn't care about the characters then no matter how good or interesting the rest of the book is is irrelevant. At home, Lillie reads all the time. She has far too many books, she has stacks upon stacks of books at her house. (It's a bit ridiculous to be honest.) Some of Lillie's favorite authors are Sarah J. Maas, Rick Riordan, and Libba Bray. Lillie loves to read and everything that goes along with it. The emotions that go with the stories, the characters, and people that you get to know because of reading. All of it bolsters Lillie's love of reading.
Lillie likes to dabble in being a writer, she learned to write from school and just from all the books that she's read. She learned what good writing looked like, and she learned what bad writing looked like. So, she just went from there! People write to talk about their experiences, create and explore a new world of their own creation, and some people just write to write. For someone to write and write they have to have at least a basic understanding of what they're writing about and a person has to know how to trust themselves when writing, otherwise that doubt can get in the way of the creative process. Lillie likes to write creatively for the most part. She has written part of a short story and a few pieces of poetry. For her writing creatively is easy while writing essays are a trial. Her brain thinks much better when writing for enjoyment rather than for class. Lillie doesn't really decide what she writes about, it's more of whatever idea sticks in her head long enough for her to create something cohesive and understandable. Most of her ideas come from various prompts and phrases that have gotten stuck in her head. Really any response at all helps Lillie as a writer. It means that someone had actually seen her writing and that's good enough for her. Lillie doesn't write much at home simply because she's so busy and inspiration is hard to come by at times. For the most part Lillie feels good about her writing but she is also nervous to show her work to anyone. |
